Steam continues to share the statistics of users on the platform. The report for July revealed the most used operating systems among gamers. The analysis showed that while Windows 10 is losing users, Windows 7 and 11 continue to gain adoption among gamers.

Windows 10 is still number one, Windows 11 is growing

According to Steam’s July data, Windows 11 is used by 36 percent of users, up 0.92 percentage points from the previous month. Windows 10, on the other hand, lost 1.56 percentage points, appealing to 57 percent of the user base. It should be noted that it is still in first place with this figure.

According to July data, Windows 11 continues the trend of slowly reducing the dominance of Windows 10. Microsoft’s latest operating system had a 35 percent market share in the previous month’s reports.

And despite the end of support in 2020, some gamers are still running Windows 7. As of July, the older operating system accounted for 1.21 percent of Steam users, up 0.05 percentage points from June.
