Take-Two, the parent company of Rockstar Games, made statements about the GTA 6 leaks. The company said that they had no problem with the trailer being released earlier than expected, but that the leaks still disappointed Rockstar.
Take-Two CEO: GTA 6 leaks disappointing but not damaging
The release trailer for GTA 6 was leaked ahead of schedule, prompting Rockstar to take action and release the official trailer. Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick, who said that they could not make the game announcement the way they wanted, believes that the leaks did not negatively affect the development of the game.
CEO Zelnick made important statements during Take-Two’s latest earnings report. Commenting on the GTA 6 trailer leak, the CEO said it was “disappointing” that Rockstar Games’ promotional plans were disrupted. However, he doesn’t think the leak has hurt the game.
“It’s great that the trailer announcement was big news, and then we were delighted when the trailer hit the internet. We couldn’t be happier or more excited. As for the leak, that’s always disappointing for the team, but it didn’t hurt us,” Zelnick said.
On the other hand, Take-Two aims to earn $8 billion between January 1, 2025 and March 31, 2025. This is a big number and it seems unlikely that the company will be able to make such a profit with the games currently on the air.
In this context, it is estimated that GTA 6 will be released in early 2025. It is highly likely that consoles will be prioritized at this point. It should be noted that there have been claims supporting this date before.
