TCL has officially announced the new TCL Note A1 NxtPaper, a device designed to elevate the digital note-taking and reading experience. This new tablet combines the company’s unique paper-like screen technology with AI-powered productivity tools, positioning it as a strong competitor to devices like the Kindle Scribe. The tablet is currently available for pre-order on Kickstarter for an early-bird price of $419, with the official retail price set at $549 when it launches in late February.
TCL Note A1 NxtPaper: 120Hz Display & Powerful Specs
The most striking feature of the device is its 11.5-inch Canvas Color LCD screen. With a 3:2 aspect ratio and a resolution of 2200 x 1440 pixels, the panel promises a smooth experience thanks to its 120Hz refresh rate. Furthermore, TCL’s NxtPaper Pure technology reduces blue light and eliminates screen flicker, while a special three-layer coating prevents reflections and fingerprints. This makes for a comfortable viewing experience that truly mimics paper.
Under the hood, the tablet is powered by a MediaTek G100 processor, paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. This combination ensures smooth performance for both productivity and entertainment. Additionally, a large 8000 mAh battery with 33W fast charging support provides long-lasting usage on a single charge.

T-Pen Pro Stylus and AI Integration
The Note A1 NxtPaper comes with the T-Pen Pro stylus right out of the box. Offering 8,192 levels of pressure sensitivity and a latency of under 5 milliseconds, this stylus provides a natural writing feel, much like writing on real paper. It also includes an integrated eraser for convenience. However, the true power lies in its AI capabilities.
The tablet is equipped with advanced AI tools, including handwriting-to-text conversion, formula recognition, real-time transcription, instant translation, and automatic summarization. These features are designed to make organizing notes effortless for both students and professionals. The device also boasts an aerospace-grade aluminum body, measuring just 5.5 mm thick and weighing 500 grams, making it both durable and portable.
