    TEKNOFEST 2026 has begun in Sanliurfa, featuring aerospace technology, massive air shows, and historical exhibitions at GAP Airport from September 30 to October 4.

    TEKNOFEST, Turkey’s premier aerospace and technology festival, has officially commenced in the Southeastern Anatolian province of Sanliurfa. Hosted at the Sanliurfa GAP Airport, the massive event runs from September 30 to October 4, 2026. Organized under the leadership of the T3 Foundation and the Ministry of Industry and Technology, the festival spans 191,000 square meters and aims to attract over one million visitors. The event integrates cutting-edge aviation displays, technology competitions, and scientific workshops with the region’s rich historical identity. Participants can explore a wide range of national defense technologies and interactive exhibits while experiencing the cultural heritage of the city. {{WP_IMAGE_1}}

    • The five-day festival hosts technology competitions across 61 main and 143 sub-categories with significant financial support for participants.
    • Sanliurfa GAP Airport provides the infrastructure for over one million expected visitors, including newly paved roads and expanded water systems.
    • National aerospace platforms like KAAN, Bayraktar KIZILELMA, and HÜRJET are displayed alongside various combat aircraft and helicopters.

    Infrastructure Preparations Are Successfully Completed

    The Sanliurfa Governorate has finalized all necessary infrastructure works to accommodate the massive influx of attendees. Beyond the exhibition stands, authorities have upgraded transportation, security, and utility services to ensure a seamless experience. The Sanliurfa Water and Sewerage Administration (ŞUSKİ) installed a new pipeline capable of serving 350,000 people daily, while the General Directorate of Highways paved approximately 136,000 square meters of road. {{WP_IMAGE_2}} These efforts ensure that both the festival area and the city remain fully operational during the high-traffic period. {{WP_IMAGE_3}}

    Historical Sites Are Integrated Into Technology Displays

    TEKNOFEST 2026 offers more than just aerospace technology; it connects innovation with history. Visitors are encouraged to explore world-renowned archaeological sites such as Göbeklitepe, Karahantepe, and Balıklıgöl. {{WP_IMAGE_4}} A dedicated “Göbeklitepe Experience Area” bridges the gap between ancient civilization and modern engineering, highlighting the city’s unique position as a hub for both past and future.

    Spectacular Aerial Shows Are Presented Daily

    The festival calendar features an extensive array of aerial demonstrations. Renowned teams such as the Turkish Stars and SOLOTÜRK headline the flight schedule. {{WP_IMAGE_5}} Participants can witness the capabilities of unmanned aerial vehicles like the Bayraktar AKINCI, TB3, and AKSUNGUR, as well as the T-129 ATAK and GÖKBEY helicopters. {{WP_IMAGE_6}} The program also includes specialized combat training simulations and parachute jumps performed by the Gendarmerie’s Steel Wings. {{WP_IMAGE_7}}

    Public Transportation Options Are Increased

    The Sanliurfa Metropolitan Municipality has optimized transit routes to prevent congestion. {{WP_IMAGE_8}} With 115 buses assigned to ferry visitors from seven strategic points across the city to the GAP Airport, officials strongly advise the use of public transport over private vehicles. While entry is free of charge, all visitors must complete an online registration prior to arrival. The festival gates remain open from 09:00 to 20:00, with children under seven exempted from the registration requirement. For those planning to attend, detailed site maps and schedules are available at the main entrances to ensure all events are easily accessible.
