Artificial intelligence is constantly evolving, and companies are trying to gain a foothold in this sector. Tencent, known for its PUBG Mobile platform, has announced its new AI tool, Hunyuan 3D 3.0, and aims to offer a radically different experience with it. Tencent Hunyuan Innovates in 3D Modeling
Most AI-powered 3D generators feel like throwing a lump of digital clay at a wall and expecting something smooth to emerge. Hunyuan 3D 3.0 takes a completely different approach, called “3D-DiT.” Instead of trying to create everything at once (which often leads to uneven results), the system builds models layer by layer.
It starts with basic shapes and then continuously refines them, ultimately resulting in a truly “real”-looking model. It offers three times better precision than the previous version, support for up to 36 billion voxels (that’s a lot of tiny 3D pixels), and the ability to reach resolutions of up to 1536³. It’s also worth noting that this tool is free.
Anyone who has tried 3D modeling with AI has experienced the problem of facial features looking odd, body proportions being off, and poses having a robotic, artificial feel. Tencent appears to have solved this problem.
The new system produces characters that truly look human. Facial features are where they should be, skin textures look believable, and poses flow naturally, not like awkwardly positioned mannequins.
The system can predict what things it can’t see should be. If part of your character is turned or behind an object, the AI makes educated guesses about the hidden parts as it sees them. This way, you won’t encounter strange gaps or impossible anatomical structures.
