Tesla is launching a 30-day free trial of the FSD (Supervised) V14 in North America. This trial targets approximately 1.5 million Tesla owners with HW4 hardware who have not purchased the FSD (Full Self-Driving) package.
FSD (Supervised) V14 30-Day Free Trial Launches!
FSD stands for “Full Self-Driving,” but because this term is inaccurate, Tesla has added the oxymoron “Supervised” in hopes of obscuring the fact that “supervised driving isn’t ‘fully autonomous’.” The company states that eligible owners will receive an email about the trial and a notification in the Tesla app.

To qualify for the trial, you must own a Model S, Model 3, Model X, Model Y, or Cybertruck in the US, Puerto Rico, Mexico, or Canada. Your vehicle must also be running software version 14.2 or later. This version will be distributed as an over-the-air update. It’s recommended that you keep your Tesla connected to Wi-Fi as much as possible to receive the update as quickly as possible.
There’s no way to postpone the trial. The trial will begin as soon as software version 14.2 is installed and will last for 30 days (however, Tesla reserves the right to end the trial earlier).
