Launched today, the new Model 3 Performance is Tesla’s exciting new sports model. This new model offers significant improvements and enhancements compared to the previous version. Let’s take a look at its features and Elon Musk’s statement.
Elon Musk: “Tesla Model 3 Performance is faster than the Porsche 911”
Tesla CEO Elon Musk made a clear statement about the new Model 3 Performance. Musk stated that the car is faster than the Porsche 911, which shows how ambitious it is. But judging by the comments underneath, people don’t really care.
One of the first things that stands out is the impressive improvement in 0-100 km/h acceleration time. The new Model 3 Performance reaches this speed in just 2.9 seconds. It has 510 horsepower, 741 Nm of torque and a top speed of 262 km/h.
The performance-oriented chassis, combined with a quieter and more comfortable cabin and specially designed chassis hardware, creates a solid foundation for achieving higher levels of performance. In addition, the new Performance 4th generation drive unit delivers more power and lower energy consumption, delivering a 22% continuous power increase, 32% peak power increase and 16% peak torque increase compared to the previous Model 3. All with lower overall energy consumption.
The 20-inch wheels and Pirelli P Zero 4 tires provide better cornering exit and limit traction control interference. They also provide better comfort, lower rolling resistance and increased range.
Developed to deliver a better track driving experience for the new Model 3 Performance, Track Mode V3 integrates engine control, suspension control, powertrain cooling and Vehicle Dynamics Controller (VDC) under one unified system. This delivers a more predictable, stable and consistent experience in a variety of track environments.
The new Adaptive Shock Absorber system adapts to driver and road inputs in real time, optimizing ride and handling while enhancing ride comfort. Controlled via internal software, it is constantly evolving with future over-the-air software updates.
With a more aerodynamic exterior design, the new Model 3 Performance delivers 5% less air resistance, 36% less lift and 55% more front-rear lift balance compared to its predecessor. The new Sport Seats retain the functionality and comfort of the previous version, while offering much better side support in corners and dynamic driving.
The new Model 3 Performance is set to usher in a new era in the electric vehicle industry, offering drivers more power, performance and technology. What do you think? Please don’t forget to share your thoughts with us in the comments.
