2025 Tesla Model Y Juniper: Preparing for use as police vehicle in the US
The 2025 Tesla Model Y Juniper will be available in rear-wheel drive (RWD), all-wheel drive (AWD) and Performance models. The vehicle also differs from its predecessor with a refreshed design and color options such as the new Glacial Blue. The US version is expected to use Tesla’s 4680 batteries. Mass production of the Model Y has begun at Tesla’s Shanghai and Berlin Gigafactory facilities and is scheduled to launch in the US in March.

Unplugged Performance (UP.FIT), which specializes in converting Tesla vehicles into fleet vehicles, will have the patrol vehicle version of the Model Y Juniper ready shortly. Tesla police vehicles are said to save $15,000 per unit per year compared to other alternatives. Therefore, it is said that this could enable the Model Y Juniper to quickly gain popularity among law enforcement agencies.
Meanwhile, Tesla has accelerated Model Y Juniper production globally. It is reported that more than 600 vehicles are leaving the facilities in Shanghai daily and shipments of these vehicles have started. In Europe, the Berlin factory started production. In the US, the Fremont and Texas factories are expected to start production.
