While Tesla continues to be excited about its new, sporty Model Y Performance model, launched yesterday in the Turkish market, the company has received some upsetting news for existing buyers. The price list, quietly updated with the launch, has increased the price of the rear-wheel-drive Standard Range (SR RWD) Model Y, the most popular version in Turkey.
How much have Tesla prices increased?
Following the 64,500 TL increase, the starting price of the Standard Range RWD version, the entry-level Tesla Model Y, has been raised from 2,241,000 TL to 2,305,500 TL. This increase represents a significant change for potential buyers who see the Model Y as a more affordable option.
Tesla Turkey has not made any changes to the prices of the Long Range RWD and Long Range AWD models. These versions will continue to be sold at their current prices.
In addition to the price update, Tesla also shared important information about inventory status and any current promotions. A statement released to those considering purchasing a vehicle indicated that the next major inventory listing will take place on September 5th at 6:30 PM. It was emphasized that this date will be the last major listing before October. It was also noted that vehicles from canceled orders are automatically relisted on the inventory page every weekday at 6:00 PM.
Another welcome development for both current and new Tesla owners is the “Enhanced Autopilot (EAP)” campaign. Tesla announced that this advanced driver assistance system is being offered at a special price of 57,500 TL + VAT, with a 50% discount, valid from August 15th to September 15th.
While these developments were taking place in the Turkish market, the Tesla Model Y L, recently introduced in China, also attracted attention. This version, whose main difference from the standard Model Y is its six-seat (2+2+2) seating arrangement, is aimed at larger families.
The Model Y L, which is longer, taller, and has a longer wheelbase than the standard model, can offer a range of 751 km (CLTC standard) with its 82 kWh battery. Furthermore, the vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. However, with a starting price of approximately $47,000, it is reportedly very unlikely that this six-seat version will be introduced to the Turkish market, at least in the near future.
