The GSE badge, used on Opel’s sporty cars since the 1970s, is a step toward an all-electric future. The brand recently announced that all models bearing the GSE badge will now be exclusively electric. The Opel Mokka GSE, introduced as the first representative of this new era, has become the brand’s fastest electric car to date.
The 278-horsepower Opel Mokka GSE has been unveiled
The Mokka GSE produces 345 Nm of torque from a 207 kW (278 hp) electric motor mounted on the front axle. All of this power is available to the driver only in “Sport” mode. While Opel has not yet announced the model’s net weight, it has been reported that the vehicle will weigh under 1.6 tons. This suggests that the Mokka GSE will be several kilograms lighter than the standard Mokka Electric.

The performance data demonstrate that this model, bearing the GSE badge, continues the sporty heritage of previous generations not only in name but also in technical terms. The vehicle accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds.
The maximum speed is limited to 200 km/h. Equipped with a 54 kWh (net 50.8 kWh) NMC battery, the model offers a range of 336 kilometers. This figure is lower than the 407-kilometer range of the standard version, but the vehicle’s higher power output and performance-oriented driving character are the main reasons for this difference.
The Mokka GSE’s technical infrastructure is inspired by the recently introduced rally-spec Mokka. The Torsen limited-slip differential ensures a more even transfer of power to the front wheels, especially on wet and low-grip surfaces.
The steering system has been tuned for sharper response. The sport suspension includes dual hydraulic shock absorbers. The larger and improved braking system, along with the yellow GSE brake calipers, is notable. 20-inch special alloy wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport EV tires are standard.
In terms of design, the model does not feature any radical changes. GSE logos, dark bumper details, and large wheels accentuate the sporty design from the exterior. The interior features Alcantara-covered sports seats, an aluminum pedal set, rally stripes, and a special upholstery with yellow stitching. The use of Alcantara on the door panels also distinguishes the GSE from the standard Mokka.
The 10-inch infotainment screen features GSE-specific performance indicators. Drivers can monitor technical data such as battery temperature, G-force, and acceleration directly on the screen.
The Opel Mokka GSE is scheduled to make its debut at the IAA Mobility 2025 in September. Deliveries are expected to begin in the last quarter of the year. While official pricing has not yet been announced, the model is expected to be sold for around €45,000, above the €36,740 starting price of the standard Mokka Electric.
