Naughty Dog and Sony are working on The Last of Us Part II, which is expected to be released as Remastered for PlayStation 5. The latest trailer released provides the first look at one of the new modes to be added to the game. It showed off the “No Return” mode, a survival mode that will be added to the action-adventure game.

No Return mode for The Last of Us Part II Remastered

In No Return mode, players will be able to choose to have random encounters with characters such as Ellie or Joel. Locations, enemies and monsters will be randomly generated and new challenges will be presented with each game.

Players will collect weapons and supplies to survive as long as possible against ever-changing threats. Characters will be able to reverse the scenario by adding unexpected changes during the match.

Beyond survival; Progressing in matches will also have some advantages. Players will be able to unlock more characters, weapons, and other rewards to use in No Return. This means gameplay that has not existed before in Last of Us Part II.

In addition to the new mode, PS5 Remastered will also have other additions. Changes will be made to the music with developer comments. There are also graphical improvements such as 4K image quality and VRR (variable refresh rates) support.

The Last of Us Part II Remastered will be available only for PlayStation 5 on January 19, 2024. Pre-orders for the improved version begin today ahead of its release early next year.
