The eagerly awaited market data from the tech world has finally surfaced. The latest report published by Counterpoint Research once again highlights Apple’s dominance in the smartphone market. iPhone 16 sales, in particular, significantly outpaced its competitors in the third quarter of 2025, taking the top spot.
The iPhone 16 is the best-selling phone
While global market competition intensifies daily, Apple’s new series has managed to capture the attention of users. According to the released data, the iPhone 16 was the most preferred model globally in the third quarter of 2025. Consumers showed strong interest in the standard model, while other members of the series also dominated the top spots.

The iPhone 16 Pro ranked second on the list, followed closely by the iPhone 16 Pro Max. The iPhone 16e, positioned as Apple’s affordable option, ranked fourth. Samsung followed Apple’s success with its powerful mid-range models.
Here are the best-selling phones of the third quarter of 2025:
- iPhone 16
- iPhone 16 Pro
- iPhone 16 Pro Max
- iPhone 16e
- Samsung Galaxy A16 5G
- Galaxy A06
- Galaxy A36
- Galaxy A56
- Galaxy A16 4G
- iPhone 17 Pro Max
Comparing this table with the previous year, we see Apple maintaining its stability. As you may recall, the iPhone 15 family held the top three spots during the same period in 2024.
In addition to market data, Apple’s future plans are also beginning to become clear. Important details have leaked about the iPhone 17e, which will replace the iPhone 16e, which started at 50,000 TL in the Turkish market. Allegedly, the new model will use the same display technology as the current 16e. However, this time, it will offer a more modern look with thinner bezels.
On the technical side, Apple is expected to make some radical changes. The new model will switch from a notch to a “Dynamic Island” design. At the center of this island will be an 18-megapixel “Center Stage” camera, which supports both vertical and horizontal shooting. The rear will feature a single camera setup.
The device is rumored to be powered by an A19 processor with a slightly more limited graphics unit. Additionally, Apple’s in-house developed N1 wireless chip and C1 modem may also be featured in this model. There’s also a welcome development in color options; the company plans to increase the number of options from two to three.
