Prime Video’s hit series is preparing to bid farewell to its screens with its final season. The new trailer for The Boys season 5, which proves Karl Urban’s warning that “everyone is in the crosshairs,” has finally been released. The released footage proves that things have reached a point of no return within the series’ universe.
When will The Boys season 5 air?
Following the fourth season and the second season of Gen V, the story has now reached its final turning point. The trailer also reveals the release date for the final season. This chaotic finale, which sees Homelander (Antony Starr) take on a full-blown dictatorship, will be available in the Prime Video library on April 8th.
One of the biggest surprises in the trailer is the return of Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles). And he’s not alone; his Supernatural co-star Jared Padalecki is also joining the cast. Showrunner Eric Kripke confirmed that the two old friends will share the screen this season. However, it remains to be seen how the tension between Soldier Boy and his son, Homelander, will unfold.
The most striking scene of the trailer was when Homelander brutally punched someone. With Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) and his team forming an uneasy alliance, the identity of the victim remains a mystery. Has The Deep or A-Train finally crossed the line, or are we saying goodbye to one of the team? We’ll have to wait until April for the answers.
