China continues its investments in artificial intelligence and robotics without slowing down. Robotics companies operating in the country have reached a very important threshold in the production of humanoid robots. Companies including Unitree Robotics, AgiBot, Galbot, Engine AI and Leju Robotics are planning to officially start mass production of humanoid robots by 2025.
China to start mass production of humanoid robots
Humanoid robot investments are seen as part of the country’s technology policies to reduce foreign dependence. According to the report, with this move, China’s annual humanoid robot production value will reach approximately $ 616 million.

The preparation of Chinese companies to rapidly move into production can also be seen as a critical development in terms of global competition. Because it is stated that US-based manufacturers are still dependent on Chinese suppliers for many basic parts.
However, this decisive progress in the transition to mass production does not mean that technical difficulties have been completely overcome. In the 21.1 kilometre half marathon held in Beijing last week, humanoid robots were also included in the race. However, only 6 of the 20 robots were able to complete the course.
This shows that there are still serious engineering problems in areas such as efficiency, mobility and energy management. China’s production breakthrough for humanoid robots will further strengthen the country’s position in global competition.
