Xiaomi recently celebrated its fourteenth anniversary. Company President Lu Weibing shared a video showcasing some of Xiaomi’s most memorable phones. Towards the end of the video, Weibing provided an update on the company’s future plans and hinted at what to expect from the upcoming Xiaomi 16 series.
The Xiaomi 16 series will feature a major change
Weibing stated that Xiaomi’s latest-generation flagship series will undergo a major transformation in both product description and positioning.

These statements can be interpreted as a direct reference to the Xiaomi 16 series, expected to launch in September.
The devices in the series will be the first to use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset, which will deliver a powerful performance boost. One of the most notable innovations is the addition of a compact flagship to the Pro series.
Unlike previous years, the Pro series will now feature a smaller 6.3-inch version in addition to the standard 6.8-inch model. This model is currently referred to as the “Xiaomi 16 Pro Mini,” but the official designation may differ.
The Xiaomi 16 series is expected to launch in four models: the Xiaomi 16, Xiaomi 16 Pro, Xiaomi 16 Pro Mini, and the Xiaomi 16 Ultra, which will be introduced later. The addition of a smaller version to the Pro series is one of the most significant changes highlighted by Lu Weibing. The Xiaomi 16 Ultra is planned to be introduced in China next year.
