According to the latest information from the industry, the prototypes Apple is testing use the A15 Bionic chip, familiar from the iPhone 13 series. This means the new MacBook may lag far behind other Macs with current M-series processors. It may not deliver the expected performance, especially for demanding applications and multitasking.

Leaks indicate that the device’s codename is “mac14p” and that it houses a modified version of the A15 chip called “H14P.” This suggests Apple is opting for an older generation processor to reduce costs.
