X (formerly Twitter) continues to push the boundaries of user experience with new features. According to an official announcement by Nikita Bier, Head of Product at X, the new auto-translate feature, powered by the Grok AI model, is now available to all users worldwide. This innovative system aims to give posts written in any language a truly global reach.
Translation Can Be Toggled and New Interaction Rules Are Here
Grok, the engine behind the auto-translate system, has seen substantial improvements in translation accuracy and quality over the last few months. For users who prefer reading posts in their original language, the feature is not forced; you can easily disable it at any time by tapping the gear icon (Settings) located next to the translation text.
Alongside the translation update, a new layer of security and privacy has been introduced specifically for the paid subscription tier. X Premium users now have even tighter control over who can reply to their content. A newly added option, “Accounts you follow and accounts they follow,” is designed to protect your network from outside noise.
With this setting enabled, only the accounts you directly follow—and the trusted individuals they follow—can post replies to your content. This update is a strategic move to curb unwanted interactions, spam, and “engagement farming” from outside your immediate circles, making digital conversations more meaningful.
