Leadership changes taking place within Apple bring along new question marks about the future of the company’s important names. It is stated that Mike Rockwell, who led the development of Vision Pro and is currently managing the renewal process of Siri, is considering leaving or reducing his duties.
According to the information shared by Bloomberg, one of the biggest tests ahead of Apple’s new CEO John Ternus will be keeping talented executives in the company. Mike Rockwell was put in charge of the Siri renewal project following the former artificial intelligence chief John Giannandrea.
He is Not Expected to Leave Before the Siri Update is Completed
The main motivation for bringing Rockwell to this position was his success in overcoming the technical difficulties encountered during the launch process of the Vision Pro. However, in the current situation, all of Apple’s artificial intelligence works have entered under the management of software chief Craig Federighi.
According to new reports, Mike Rockwell has reservations about reporting to Craig Federighi, and it is expressed that he is in search of a more comprehensive role. The future plans of Rockwell, who is known to be close to a position similar to chief technology officer that determined the company’s product and artificial intelligence roadmap in the past, remain uncertain.

The Vision Pro not fully meeting the expected consumer interest due to its price and weight also points to a new era in the company’s wearable devices strategy. Despite this, it is emphasized that there is a low probability of Rockwell leaving the company before completing his work on Siri. The management changes at Apple are not limited only to Rockwell, and there is also mobility among other names within the company.
The selection of head of product integrity Tom Marieb instead of Kate Bergeron, whose name was mentioned for the hardware chief position, is also among the other notable developments. How do you think these top-level management changes at Apple will affect the company’s future projects?
