Marvel and Sony have made a statement about the Spider-Man 4 release date. Accordingly, the release of the new film has been postponed by a week. The production, which was originally planned to be released in theaters on July 24, 2026, will now be on the big screen on July 31, 2026.
Spider-Man 4 release date postponed
The reason behind this postponement was Christopher Nolan’s new film The Odyssey. The Odyssey, starring Matt Damon, will be released on July 17, 2026. Marvel and Sony postponed the release of Spider-Man 4 in order not to compete with this production at the box office.

The studios made a joint statement and said, “We aim to achieve more ticket sales and therefore more profit by postponing Spider-Man’s new adventure a little.” Spider-Man: No Way Home grossed over $1 billion worldwide. The new film is expected to achieve at least this success.
Details about Spider-Man 4 are still unclear. According to industry sources, Jacob Batalon will not be returning as Ned Leeds, and Zendaya’s MJ will have a smaller role in the film.
Director Daniel Destin Cretton has also reportedly created a new supporting cast for Peter Parker, played by Tom Holland. Spider-Man 4 is actually sandwiched between Avengers: Apocalypse, which will be released in May 2026, and Avengers: Secret Wars, which will be released in May 2027.
