Google continues its efforts to increase its share in the smartphone market. Sources reveal that the company is set to introduce the Pixel 9a model very soon. Recent developments have cleared up any lingering questions about the product’s design.
What will the Google Pixel 9a look like, and what will it offer?
Reliable industry sources from Android Authority have shared images of the upcoming Google Pixel 9a’s case. This leaves no unknowns regarding the design of the model. It is confirmed that the product will come with a different design approach compared to its predecessors. Specifically, the rear panel will feature a pill-shaped camera setup in the top-left corner, replacing the horizontal bar seen on previous models.

There will be no changes to the front of the device. The smartphone will still feature a screen-to-body ratio above industry standards and come with a hole-punch display design.
According to previous leaks, the phone is expected to launch in the US with a price tag of $499 for the 128GB version, while the 256GB version will be priced at $649. This represents a $40 price increase compared to the Pixel 8a. In Europe, prices will be €549 / £499 (128GB) and €649 / £599 (256GB).
The Pixel 9a will be powered by the Google Tensor G4 chipset. It will also come with 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and offer storage options of 128GB and 256GB UFS 3.1. Additionally, the device will feature a 6.2-inch OLED display with a peak brightness of 2,700 nits and 1,800 nits HDR brightness. The camera setup will include a 48MP f/1.7 main camera, a 13MP ultra-wide lens, and a 13MP Sony IMX712 selfie sensor.

The device will be equipped with a 5,100mAh battery supporting 23W wired and 7.5W wireless charging. Security will be ensured with the Titan M2 security chip, providing data protection and secure boot operations. Finally, it will have an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.
The product will open for pre-orders on March 19, 2025, and will be released on March 26, 2025. Additionally, Google will provide three months of Google One (100GB) and YouTube Premium, as well as six months of Fitbit Premium subscription.
