The Pixel family was expanded at the last event organized by Google. The software giant did not neglect to show Android 15 and Google Gemini developments within the scope of this event. Accordingly, some artificial intelligence features specific to the Pixel 9 series were revealed.
What is Gemini Live and what does it do?
Gemini, which replaces Google Assistant as the default artificial intelligence on Android devices, now has much more advanced speech capabilities. The new Gemini Live feature, available with Gemini Advanced subscription, will allow users to have more natural conversations with Gemini.
In addition, Gemini will use multi-mode artificial intelligence on the device through Nano. These modes are planned to learn from voice commands, text input and even images on the user’s screen. This aims to keep all data on the device without sending data to the server.
Several new artificial intelligence features exclusive to Pixel were also announced. The most important of these is Add Me, which allows you to combine photos taken as selfies with a group. Pixel Screenshots support pairs screenshots with text search. Thus, you can access screenshots by searching.
Another Gemini feature is Search Summary. As you can understand from its name, it creates short summaries by analyzing the important details of phone calls. Reimagine enables image editing by verbally describing changes such as “make the grass greener in the photo”.
Google aims to make Android phones smarter by offering AI assistants like Gemini Live. Although subscription-based for now, it is possible that Gemini features will expand to more devices with Android 15.
