In the foldable phone market, 2025 is shaped by strategic changes and uncertainties of manufacturers. There has been a significant drop in demand in the market. Some brands have officially revised their plans for book-style foldable models, which have attracted great attention in recent years.
Foldable phone market in decline
For example, OnePlus announced that it will not release a new foldable phone in 2025 by shelving the Open 2 model. Oppo’s launch of the Find N5 model showed that it is one of the rare manufacturers that continue to progress in this field.

While it is certain that the Mix Flip 2 model will be released on the Xiaomi front, the fate of the Mix Fold 5 remains uncertain. Similarly, no clear decision has yet been made for Vivo’s X Fold 4 model.
Recent leaks have raised the possibility that the brand may completely abandon the production of book-style foldable models. Although it is claimed that the X Fold 4 Pro will come with Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and 6000 mAh battery, it is claimed that the device may also come with MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400 Plus chip.
On the Huawei side, the Mate X7 model is expected to be introduced in the second half of the year. It is suggested that the company will use Kirin processor in this model. It was also claimed that Honor will introduce the Magic V4 model in June.
In the foldable phone market, brands shelving their projects is associated with production costs, technological difficulties and changes in user demands. 2025 seems to be a year of surprise decisions in this segment. So what do you think about this issue?
