Apple has obtained an important patent for the Apple Watch. Actually, Apple is the company with the most patents in the world. These patents don’t always come to life. However, sensor patents obtained for the Apple Watch always draw attention. According to the newly emerged patent, there is a possibility of the presence of a sweat sensor in future Apple Watch models.
Will future Apple Watch models come with a sweat sensor?
According to Apple’s new patent, engineers are preparing to use an important waste product from our bodies for health checks. The title of the patent is “Wearable Devices with Sweat Measurement Feature”. Looking at the illustration in the patent, it is understood that this is an Apple Watch model.
A perforated structure on the back of the future model stands out in the patent. The patent description states that this perforated structure is a housing that absorbs sweat. Accordingly, a sensor that processes the sweat sample taken from the housing and a processor that processes the data from this sensor will be included in this model.
According to the patent, Apple plans to place two sweat sensors in the Apple Watch model for more accurate sweat measurement. It is among the predictions that Apple will measure fluid loss during sports with the sweat information obtained from here. In this sense, future Apple Watch models may appear with warnings about how much water should be consumed.
In this sense, the two sweat sensors in the Apple Watch model in the patent will obtain much more detailed sweat data. However, it is also a question whether other types of health information can be obtained with the obtained sweat data. The structure of sweat and sweat tests can provide important findings for many diseases in modern health today.
It is interesting that Apple obtains these types of health sensor patents after the Masimo case. In this sense, the company may also be taking precautions for a similar case that may arise in the future.
Do you think there is a chance of success for the future sweat sensor for the Apple Watch? What kind of sensor-equipped Apple Watch model would you like to see in the future? We are waiting for your comments.
