The mystery surrounding that ominous Game Awards statue might finally be solved and no, it’s not Diablo or God of War. Fresh trademark filings point to something even more intriguing: a return to the Divinity universe. After years of silence, it looks like Divinity 3 may finally be on its way.
New Divinity trademarks match The Game Awards statue

The speculation began with Geoff Keighley’s tease: a horned, demonic statue meant to preview a major announcement. But now, thanks to trademark sleuthing by MP1st, we’ve got real clues. Several European trademarks filed under the “Divinity” name contain imagery that closely resembles the teased statue down to the horn shape and stance.
One trademark image, when layered over the teaser, aligns almost perfectly with the figure’s silhouette. While not an exact match, the visual overlap is strong enough to suggest this isn’t a coincidence. All signs point to Larian Studios, fresh off their Baldur’s Gate 3 success, returning to their original flagship series.
Divinity 3 may not be the only surprise
Beyond a full sequel, Larian appears to be prepping multiple Divinity-related releases. A PEGI rating for Divinity: Original Sin 2 – Definitive Edition surfaced earlier in 2024, specifically for updated PlayStation and Xbox consoles. Now, dataminer PlayStation Game Size has found signs of that version on Sony’s servers hinting at a launch announcement very soon.
That’s not all. Known leaker eXtas1s posted a cryptic image from the Divinity series on December 8, further fueling the fire. While his track record isn’t flawless, the timing just ahead of The Game Awards is tough to ignore.
Larian could steal the spotlight from bigger franchises
The Game Awards 2025 is expected to feature juggernauts like Tomb Raider, but a Divinity 3 reveal could easily cut through the noise. Despite Baldur’s Gate 3 dominating the past year, many fans still prefer Divinity’s more flexible combat and world-building over the stricter D&D framework.
The last game in the series, Divinity: Original Sin 2, sold over 7 million copies and continues to attract new players. Yet Larian has never rushed a sequel. After years of experimenting with spin-offs and refining their CRPG design, they may have finally landed on the right moment for a return.
A long-awaited revival for one of CRPG’s best
If the trademarks, leaks, and visual clues are accurate, The Game Awards could mark the return of Divinity. Whether it’s a full Divinity 3 reveal or just updated console ports, the signs are building. One thing is clear: Larian hasn’t forgotten where it started. And now, neither will anyone else.
