A new trailer has been released for Last Samurai Standing, one of the most striking Netflix series to premiere next month. The series, which brings to mind the popular series Squid Game, tells the story of samurai competing in a deadly tournament for a grand prize.

The series will be available on the platform on November 13th. As the release date approaches, Netflix has stepped up its promotional efforts and has shared new footage from the series.
Last Samurai Standing is based on Shogo Imamura’s Ikusagami novels, which were previously adapted into manga. The story is set in the Meiji period, Japan’s modernizing era in the late 19th century.
The series centers on Shujiro Saga, who enters a deadly tournament to save his struggling family. Shujiro Saga’s sole purpose in participating in the tournament is to win the massive prize of 100 billion yen. To win this prize, Saga must defeat 291 other fighters in the tournament.
The series stars Jun’ichi Okada. Okada also created the fight choreography for the production. Michihito Fujii is the director. Jun’ichi Okada’s cast includes Riho Yoshioka, Hideaki Itō, and Kazunari Ninomiya. The production combines the tension-filled competition theme with the historical fabric of Japan.
