Naughty Dog has rolled out a new update for the PC version of The Last of Us Part 1. The 1.1.4 patch brings compatibility with AMD’s latest FSR 3.1 technology, offering both resolution upscaling and frame generation features. Here are the details of the update:
Update 1.1.4 Brings AMD FSR 3.1 and Fixes Key Issues
Firstly, it’s important to note that FSR 3.1’s frame generation feature works exclusively with AMD’s resolution upscaling technology and is not compatible with NVIDIA DLSS or Intel XeSS. Beyond FSR 3.1 support, the update also addresses graphical issues that occurred when using NVIDIA DLSS and AMD FSR. Previous versions saw players reporting in-scene rendering errors, which have now been resolved.

In addition, the following specific issues have been fixed:
- University Region Interaction Bug: Issues occurring after interacting with the generator in the presence of enemies have been resolved.
- Sunlight and Flashlight Glitch: A problem where Joel’s flashlight would activate incorrectly in areas exposed to direct sunlight during the bus stop scene has been fixed.
The user review score for The Last of Us Part 1 is currently rated as “Mostly Positive,” with 77% of feedback being favorable. Naughty Dog has emphasized its commitment to improving the game’s performance and stability through regular updates.
The integration of AMD FSR 3.1 adds a new layer of performance and visual quality, particularly for AMD users. Do you think this update provides enough improvement for PC players? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
