Steam, one of the world’s largest digital gaming platforms, has released its Hardware and Software Survey data for October 2025. The newly released table reveals key data on graphics card preferences, processor market competition, and operating system usage.
Most Popular Hardware Revealed
On the graphics card front, Nvidia remains the most popular brand among users. According to the survey, the GeForce RTX 3060 maintained its lead as the most popular graphics card with 4.47%, but saw a slight decrease compared to the previous month.

The RTX 3060 was followed by its mobile version, the GeForce RTX 4060 mobile GPU, at 4.17%, and the GeForce RTX 4060 at 4.17%. The GeForce RTX 3050, with 3.10%, the GeForce GTX 1650, with 3.05%, and the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti, with 2.80%.
Nvidia’s new-generation graphics card, the GeForce RTX 5070, saw 1.88 percent usage, and the GeForce RTX 5060 saw 1.30 percent usage. AMD and Intel’s share of the graphics card market remained low.
In the processor market, Intel still holds the majority at 57.82 percent, but its market share has declined. Intel’s share decreased by 0.79 percentage points compared to September. Competitor AMD increased its market share to 42.09 percent, reaching its highest level in recent years.
This significant increase was driven by the strong demand for AMD’s Ryzen 9000 series for desktops and its Ryzen AI 300 series for laptops. Trends in processor core architecture are also changing; six-core processors remain the most common at 29.63 percent, while eight-core models have risen to 25.51 percent.
Windows 11 continued its rise in operating system usage. Windows 11, which reached 67.02% in October, saw a 0.94 percentage point increase compared to the previous month. In contrast, Windows 10 continued its downward trend, falling to 32.83%. Windows 7’s adoption rate, however, has fallen to almost nothing. Microsoft’s share of total operating systems is measured at 0.08%.
All of this data demonstrates that AMD has gained significant momentum in the gaming hardware market in the processor segment, solidifying Windows 11’s market leadership.
