Steam recently shared the results of its regular hardware and software surveys, including data on the hardware and operating system versions used by users in the month of August. So, what are the most popular Windows versions on Steam currently?

According to Steam, Windows 11, despite having largely resolved its issues in recent times, is not the top choice for gamers. Windows 10 continues to dominate with a market share of 55.98%, despite experiencing a 1.89% decrease compared to July.
Usage of Windows 11 didn’t see a significant increase last month. The version obtained a 2.55% increase with a 39.22% market share. Additionally, Windows 7, which had been prominent in the past but recently lost update support, managed to hold a 1.02% share of the market with a 0.19% decrease in usage last month.
Windows 11 requirements:
- Processor: 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster with two or more cores on a compatible 64-bit processor or system on a chip (SoC).
- Memory: 4 gigabytes (GB) or greater.
