Alfa Romeo unveiled the facelifted version of the Tonale, the brand’s first compact SUV, in Pisa, Italy’s iconic city. Pisa, with its significance in art and science, was chosen as the location to emphasize the Tonale’s theme of “the fusion of human intelligence and technology.”
Alfa Romeo Tonale Refreshed
The new Alfa Romeo Tonale stands out with design touches that enhance the brand’s sporty character, premium interior details, and advanced driving technologies.

The Tonale’s exterior design features a more dynamic front fascia with a reinterpretation of the iconic Trilobe grille. The three-dimensional Alfa logo, inspired by the historic 33 Stradale model, pays homage to the brand’s history.
The model features new 19-inch Stile and 20-inch Fori wheels. The widened front and rear tracks, along with black accents, enhance the lines, giving the Tonale a more grounded stance. The rear features a black “Tonale” logo and updated LED taillights.
Alcantara and leather upholstery, combined with red or black stitching, enhance the perception of quality in the vehicle’s cabin. Comfort levels are enhanced with a new rotary gear selector, heated seats, and steering wheel. The exclusive Sport Speciale version features multicolored ambient lighting inspired by snakeskin.
The new Tonale maintains its “driving pleasure” DNA by offering more efficient and environmentally friendly engine options. The entry-level 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbo engine, with new 48V technology, produces up to 175 horsepower, a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, and front-wheel drive.
On the diesel side, a 130 horsepower 1.6-liter engine is available with a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, and front-wheel drive. The most powerful members of the family are the PHEV (plug-in hybrid) versions, offering 190 horsepower and 270 horsepower.
Thanks to a revised suspension system, dual-stage electronic shock absorbers, and Brembo brakes, the Tonale remains one of the most agile SUVs in its class.
Technological features include a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch Alfa Connect multimedia system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, and over-the-air updates. Safety features include adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, a blind spot warning system, and a 360-degree camera, along with Level 2 autonomous driving capabilities.
