Marvel’s new series Ironheart will meet the audience on Disney+ on June 24. The series brings the story of Riri Williams, a young engineer who inherits Iron Man’s legacy in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, to the screen. The character, who was previously introduced with a short scene in the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever movie, will make a full entrance into the Marvel universe with this project.
Ironheart will be with us soon
The character Riri Williams develops her own Iron Man armor with limited resources, as in the comics. Despite her young age, Riri draws attention with her high engineering skills, and with this feature, she stands out as a figure who follows in Tony Stark’s footsteps but forges her own path. The series focuses on this transformation process, the character’s inner world, and her relationship with the Marvel universe.
Dominique Thorne, who previously played the same character in the cinema, plays Riri Williams. Thorne is accompanied by names such as Lyric Ross, Alden Ehrenreich, Anthony Ramos, Matthew Elam, Anji White and Manny Montana in the series. The cast also includes James Rhodes (War Machine), a familiar face from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Marvel continues to give screen time to the new generation of characters from the cinematic universe with the Ironheart series. The series centers on Riri Williams’ first steps towards superherodom by developing her own armor.
In the trailer, armor designs and technological details that bear the traces of the classic Iron Man aesthetic draw attention. While the series tells the story of a young character’s individual journey, it also shows how he fits into the existing structures in the Marvel universe.
