Peugeot has unveiled the refreshed version of its compact model, the 308. This new model, aimed at the hatchback and station wagon segments, which still hold a significant place in the European market despite the growing popularity of SUVs worldwide, stands out with both its design and technological features.
New-generation Peugeot 308 Unveiled
The facelifted version of the current-generation 308, introduced in 2021, has undergone a complete overhaul of its headlight design. The brand’s signature “lion’s tooth” headlights have been replaced with a split lighting structure. The upper section features LEDs resembling three claws, while the high beams are hidden within the gloss black bumper.

Thin LED strips extending above the body-colored grille add a modern touch to the vehicle. Full LED headlights are available in the standard Allure trim, while the GT and GT Premium trims include Matrix LED technology and dynamic turn signals. Furthermore, an illuminated version of the Peugeot logo is featured for the first time on this model.
The rear design remains largely unchanged, with the chrome details removed. The taillights now feature an “LED claw” design on all versions. The side profile is refreshed with new 17- and 18-inch wheel options. New body colors, Lagoa Blue for the hatchback and Ingaro Blue for the station wagon, have been added to the selection.

The facelifted 308’s cockpit retains the new digital instrument cluster found on its 3008 and 5008 sister models. However, the 10-inch i-Cockpit display retains its modern look. Features include an updated digital instrument cluster with 3D graphics, Alcantara upholstery available on the GT trim, eight-color ambient lighting, massage seats, and a 10-speaker Focal Hi-Fi sound system. The infotainment system now receives over-the-air updates.
It’s also stated that 31 percent of the materials used in production come from recycled or renewable sources. For those who prioritize practicality, the 308 SW continues with the update. The model’s advantages include a luggage capacity ranging from 598 to 1,487 liters, a 40:20:40 split-folding rear seats, and a power liftgate.
The 308 continues to use Stellantis’s EMP2 platform. The entry-level 1.2-liter PureTech mild hybrid engine delivers 145 horsepower with an e-DCS6 dual-clutch automatic transmission. The 1.6-liter plug-in hybrid version produces 192 horsepower and provides an all-electric range of up to 85 kilometers with its 17.2 kWh battery.
A 130 horsepower 1.5-liter BlueHDi diesel engine, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, is also available. The electric E-308, with its 154 horsepower engine and 58.4 kWh battery, offers a range of up to 452 kilometers according to WLTP standards. The model supports V2L and charges from 20% to 80% in 32 minutes using 100 kW DC fast charging.
The facelifted Peugeot 308 is scheduled to go on sale in Europe this fall. Production will continue at the Mulhouse plant in France. Prices will be announced later.
