Toyota’s legendary Corolla is undergoing a major facelift in the Chinese market, and photos of this fresh change have begun to emerge; the model stands out with its aggressive exterior lines inspired by its older sibling, the Camry. The refreshed Corolla is expected to officially go on sale on December 21st. This model combines this bold design language with a highly advanced interior.
The New Toyota Corolla is Coming
Toyota’s local partner, FAW Toyota, will hold a special launch event called “Corolla Day” on December 21st, officially starting sales of the facelifted model.

The most striking difference is the completely redesigned front end; the C-shaped headlight arrangement and overall lines are reminiscent of the Camry XV80 and Prius XW60 models. In addition to the design, the car has also seen a significant increase in dimensions. The new Corolla has reached a length of 4,710 mm, a width of 1,780 mm, and a height of 1,435 mm.
The increased wheelbase, particularly at 2,750 mm, promises a more spacious living area for rear passengers. Compared to the previous generation, the length has increased by 35 mm and the wheelbase by a full 50 mm. Furthermore, the larger rear doors improve ease of entry and exit.
The interior boasts even more significant innovations. The completely redesigned center console is noteworthy, while ambient lighting and modern-looking air vents add a fresh feel to the cabin. The large 12.9-inch multimedia screen located in the center supports connectivity features such as Huawei HiCar, Apple CarPlay, and CarLink.
In terms of safety features, the Toyota Pilot driving assistance package, offered as standard on all versions, stands out. This comprehensive package includes advanced systems such as Lane Departure Alert (LDA), Proactive Driving Assistance (PDA), and EDSS, which can safely bring the vehicle to a stop in emergency situations. Under the hood, customers will be offered two main powertrain options.
The first is a hybrid system based on a 1.8-liter naturally aspirated engine. The other option is a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine capable of producing 171 horsepower. In short, the new Toyota Corolla is raising expectations with its larger body, sharp design, and technologically advanced interior.
