After months of extensive testing, Microsoft has officially released Windows 11 version 25H2 to all users. The next version of Windows 11 has been waiting for several weeks and has begun rolling out today. Users can download and install this important update through Windows Update starting today.
New Windows 11 Update Released
The new version, version 25H2, is based on the previous version 24H2. Therefore, the update does not introduce any significant new changes or improvements. The update is available as an enablement package and overwrites version 24H2.

This means downloading and installation will be quite fast. Because both updates are based on the same platform version, they share the same security fixes, bug fixes, and features.
If you already installed the non-security monthly update for Windows 11 24H2, released on Monday, you already have all the features in the new version.
The support period is extended for users upgrading to version 25H2. Windows 11 Home and Pro editions receive 24 months of support, while Enterprise and Education editions receive 36 months. Installing the update as soon as possible will ensure users benefit from this extended support period.
To install the update, users should open the Settings app and navigate to Windows Update. This will check for updates. After the message “Windows 11 25H2 is ready” appears, click the “Download and install” link next to it.
If the update doesn’t appear immediately, enable the “Get the latest updates as soon as they become available” option and check for updates again. As always, Microsoft is releasing the update gradually, so it may take some time for some users to see it.
