Xiaomi is preparing to re-introduce the Mix Fold series to users after a one-year break. The company had not introduced a new model in the horizontally foldable smartphone segment in 2024. According to the latest information, a new device belonging to the Mix Fold series has begun to be developed.

The new Xiaomi Mix Fold will appear with Snapdragon

It is stated that the device will include the most comprehensive updates to date in terms of hardware and design. In particular, the changes to be made to the aspect ratio of the device are striking. It is expected to offer a more compact structure when folded and a more efficient screen experience when opened.

It is not yet clear whether this new model, which is expected to be announced as of 2025, will be called “Mix Fold 5” or “Mix Fold 6”. It is reported that the new model is being tested with an advanced version of the Snapdragon 8 processor series.

This chipset from Qualcomm is known for the advantages it offers in areas such as high artificial intelligence processing capacity, energy efficiency and graphics performance. This hardware preference shows that the new device is technically positioned in the flagship segment.

Xiaomi’s plans won’t be limited to just this new Mix Fold model. The company is also rumored to be working on a three-fold foldable device. Codenamed “Zhuque” and carrying the model number 26013VP46C, this device is expected to be officially introduced in the first quarter of 2026.
