Xbox president Sarah Bond made important statements about the highly anticipated next-generation Xbox console. Bond stated that the new device will offer a “very premium, very high-end, and exclusive experience.” This statement has also fueled expectations that the console’s price could be high.
Will the next-generation Xbox console be a PC-console hybrid?
Sarah Bond made these statements during an interview with Mashable. While the main topic of the interview was the ASUS ROG Ally X handheld, Bond did offer some hints about the new Xbox. Showing off the ROG Ally X, she said, “You’re starting to see some of the thinking we’ve put into this handheld.”

Bond’s hint fueled rumors circulating in tech circles. It’s being said that the new console could be a hybrid between a traditional console and a PC. This would allow players to access their PC game libraries from different platforms like Steam, GOG, and BattleNet from a single Xbox device. This could make Xbox consoles very attractive again.
Of course, it’s a marketing strategy for an executive to promote their product as “premium” and “high-end.” However, these pronouncements suggest the device will be very powerful in terms of hardware and likely command a high price tag. Rumors suggest the new console is expected to launch around 2027.
