Nissan is preparing to launch the new generation of the legendary GT-R series by 2030. According to the latest information; The R36 GT-R model, which will replace the R35, will have a hybrid powertrain.
Nissan GT-R is coming with a new version
Although official technical details have not yet been shared for the new GT-R, it is said that the vehicle will use the twin-turbo V6 engine used in the 2025 Nissan Armada and will offer a range of approximately 113 km on electricity alone.

It was also revealed that a fully electric GT-R prototype was produced, but this version did not meet performance expectations. The vehicle, which could only complete one lap on the Nürburgring track, created question marks, especially on the battery side. Electric vehicles such as the Tesla Model S Plaid managed to complete three full laps on the same track.
In addition, Nissan’s solid-state battery technology in the development phase may not be enough for the R36 GT-R. It is stated that these batteries will not be able to provide the power required for a performance-oriented GT-R.
Another striking detail about the future of the GT-R is the possible collaboration with Honda. It was claimed that Nissan will share the same platform with the new generation Acura NSX. However, since such a partnership may take time to come to life, the 2030 schedule determined for the GT-R may be put on hold.
All these developments show that the steps taken by Nissan to renew the GT-R model are still in the formative stages. So what do you think about this vehicle? You can share your opinions with us in the comments section below.
