The electric transformation of Turkey’s roads continues at full speed in the second half of 2025. According to the latest report released by the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK), based on data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), the total number of electric cars in the country reached 310,668 as of August 2025. In parallel with this rapid growth, the charging infrastructure is also strengthening, and the roaming agreement signed between Togg’s company, Trugo, and Eşarj opens the door to a new era for users.
Electric car sales drive increase in charging stations
The latest report from the EPDK reveals that Turkey’s charging infrastructure is keeping pace with the increase in the number of vehicles. As of the end of August, the total number of charging sockets in the country had risen to 33,592. Of these sockets, 19,284 were AC (slow) and 14,308 were DC (fast) charging points.

ZES continues to lead the charging station market with 4,795 sockets. Eşarj follows with 2,280 sockets, while Trugo, Togg’s charging network brand, has reached 2,260 sockets, solidifying its third-place position. Voltrun and Wat round out the top five.
One of the most exciting developments in the electric vehicle ecosystem is undoubtedly the joining forces of Trugo and Eşarj. The two giant brands have signed a free roaming agreement to eliminate the hassle of finding a suitable station and the need for separate memberships, a major concern for electric vehicle users.
Thanks to this historic partnership, an Eşarj user can now easily charge at a Trugo station, or at an Eşarj station, using their own mobile app and membership. Users will be able to instantly view shared stations on both brands’ apps and enjoy a brand-agnostic charging experience.
The pilot, which initially launched at stations in Bursa, aims to expand to the rest of Turkey shortly. This agreement will bring together a comprehensive nationwide DC charging network, with over 3,000 of these charging stations operating under a single roof, making electric vehicle use much more convenient and seamless. This step is considered one of the most important steps taken for Turkey’s electric mobility future.
