Outlast series developer Red Barrels has announced a major update for its multiplayer horror title The Outlast Trials. This update, called Project Breach, will bring a number of features and content to the game before the end of the year.
The Outlast Trials Project Breach will be released on December 10th
The Outlast Trials was nominated for awards including Best Horror Game, Best Multiplayer Game, Most Accessible Horror Game and Best Survival Horror Game at the Horror Game Awards of the year. However, Red Barrels recently faced a significant cybersecurity threat that delayed the release of some planned content. Despite this, the studio is ready to release Project Breach before the end of the year.
The Project Breach update will introduce a new story centered on Amelia’s story, and will introduce a new chapter called “Appease the Prosecutor”. This trial will take shape in the city center, where players will need to survive using their environment.
In addition to Amelia’s story, the update will expand gameplay options with a new Ex-Pop member and a new jammer device. This will give players the best opportunity to escape Murkoff. Previous Murkoff stories have hinted at Amelia’s motives for infiltrating the program.
Project Breach will feature a new ending set in the Republic of Congo and will task players with reuniting a family. Finally, players will also be able to try Winter Kills, a limited-time event.
The Project Breach expansion looks set to take The Outlast Trials to new levels. More details about the update will be released in the coming weeks and will be available on December 10th.
