Important information has emerged regarding the next-generation devices in the world of gaming consoles. According to the latest information shared by Kepler, a well-known leaker in the industry, Sony’s next-generation console, the PlayStation 6, will carry a significantly more affordable price tag than Microsoft’s new Xbox.
The PlayStation 6 Will Arrive at an Affordable Price
Nearly five years have passed since the launch of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X-S. Following this, the countdown has begun for the new consoles. Sony’s PlayStation 6 is set to launch in 2027.

Leak reports indicate that the PlayStation 6 will be priced around $600. In contrast, Microsoft’s next-generation Xbox, described as “very premium,” is said to be priced at $1,200. The primary reason for the Xbox’s higher price is attributed to rising hardware costs.
According to the details, the new Xbox will have an estimated 42 percent more silicon area than the PS6. The Xbox also boasts 20 percent more memory and a more advanced cooling system than the PS6.
Microsoft Xbox manager Sarah Bond recently stated that the new console will offer a “high-end and meticulously crafted experience.” This statement demonstrates Xbox’s shift away from the traditional console concept and towards luxury hardware. The “premium” approach, which began with hybrid devices like the ROG Xbox Ally X, continues in this new model.
On the PlayStation 6 front, Sony is focusing on maintaining a balance between price and performance. The PS6 comes with more modest specifications than the next-generation Xbox.
Sony’s goal is to leverage this price advantage to reach a wider player base and maintain its competitive edge. While no specific release date has yet been released for either console, both devices are expected to launch in 2027.
