Sony has begun testing a striking pricing system on its PlayStation Store. This new structure, called “dynamic pricing,” means the same game is offered at different prices to different users. Some players are experiencing up to 17% more advantageous prices than others.
PS Store can offer dynamic pricing
According to information shared by PS Prices, dynamic pricing is currently available in over 50 European countries, including Germany, France, Spain, and the United Kingdom. These price changes are not related to known campaigns, regional exchange rates, or general pricing policies. The discounts are applied entirely specifically to the user’s PlayStation Network account.

No official statement has been released from Sony regarding this tested implementation. Therefore, it is currently unknown whether the advantageous pricing is based on user play time, total store spend, or other hidden metrics.
An important detail is that dynamic prices do not exceed the official price tag, but can only be lower. Initial observations indicate that the store’s most loyal players can receive price advantages of up to 17%.
The games included in the test include leading titles such as WWE 2K25, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, Civilization VII, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, and Mafia: The Old Country.
For example, on the German PS Store, WWE 2K25 is being reduced from €74.99 to €61.82 for some users. Meanwhile, the price of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is being reduced from €69.99 to €58.35. The observed price differences range from 5% to 17%.
Dynamic pricing isn’t limited to games. PlayStation Plus subscription fees have also been incorporated into this new system. Major publishers such as 2K Games, Take-Two Interactive, Deep Silver, Focus Entertainment, and Team17 are supporting Sony’s significant testing efforts.
No official statement has been released yet from Sony, but available data suggests that the company may offer this user-specific pricing structure to a wider audience in the future.
