PUBG creator Brendan Greene has opened his long-developed new game, Prologue: Go Wayback, to gamers through an open beta. The beta version is now available for download on Steam and the Epic Games Store. Following a closed beta period previously available only to a limited number of players, the game is now available to experience without registration or invitation.
Prologue: Go Wayback is here
Prologue: Go Wayback, a single-player, survival-focused game, challenges players to survive under challenging conditions. Drawing inspiration from the roguelike genre, the game creates unique scenarios with evolving maps with each new attempt. Dynamic weather conditions, resource management, and environmental threats directly impact gameplay.
Players begin their adventure in a small cabin and embark on a journey spanning miles, striving to reach the ultimate goal: a weather tower. Along the way, basic needs such as hunger, thirst, and body heat become key elements of survival.
The game’s map is inspired by the Bohemia region of the Czech Republic and covers a total area of 64 square kilometers. This vast world is generated using machine learning-powered systems in Unreal Engine 5.
The forests, streams, hills, cliffs, and temporary shelters featured in the game are reshaped with each playthrough. This structure creates a unique map for every player. Greene states that millions of different map variations are possible with this machine learning-powered system.
One of the main reasons Prologue has attracted attention in the gaming world is Brendan Greene’s background in the industry. Having popularized the battle royale genre with PUBG, Greene returns with a project that offers a much more personal and atmospheric experience.
Prologue: Go Wayback attracted the attention of gamers before its early access release and stands out for its fresh approach to alternative survival genres.
