Monster, one of Netflix’s most beloved series, is preparing to return with its third season. The series, which tells the story of a different serial killer in each season, generated significant buzz with its first season, which focused on Jeffrey Dahmer. With the second season, which explored the story of the Menendez Brothers, reaching a wide audience, Monster has solidified its place among Netflix’s most popular series.
Monster is Coming with a Third Season
The new season focuses on serial killer Ed Gein, who became infamous for his horrific murders in America in the 1950s. Gein, who had a strained relationship with his mother, inspired cult horror films such as Psycho and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
Psych, in particular, incorporates many details from Ed Gein’s story. One of the notable details of this season is the appearance of Alfred Hitchcock, the legendary director of Psycho, as a character in the series.
In the third season of Monster, Charlie Hunnam, known for his work on Sons of Anarchy, plays Ed Gein. Hunnam’s cast includes Suzanna Son, Tom Hollander, Laurie Metcalf, Vicky Krieps, Olivia Williams, and Lesley Manville. The director, Alfred Hitchcock, is played by veteran actor Tom Hollander. Season 3 of the series premieres on October 3rd.
