watchOS 10 will be released on September 18th!
Apple held its event today, which almost everyone was eagerly awaiting. During the event, they introduced the iPhone 15 and Watch products. Following this announcement, the release date for watchOS was revealed on Apple’s website.
After the conclusion of the Apple event, it became clear on their website when watchOS 10 operating system will be released. According to the information on the website, watchOS 10 will be available on September 18th. With this release, Apple Watch users will have access to many new features.
Design and widgets
With the new watchOS update, the first notable change is the redesign of many applications. In addition to the design updates, Apple Watch now supports widgets, similar to what’s available on iPhones. You can display your choice of widgets on the main screen. Additionally, dynamic background colors reflecting the time are also provided to users.
The new watch faces
With watchOS 10, users are introduced to two new watch faces named Snoopy and Woodstock. This allows the Apple Watch to provide color transitions to indicate the time. For example, if the weather in your location is rainy, you’ll see rain falling on Snoopy.
Bicycle measurements
Another innovation is related to the Bicycle app. With this new feature, the Apple Watch can connect to Bluetooth-enabled bicycle sensors. When you start a bicycle workout on your watch, this workout is automatically displayed as a Live Activity on your iPhone. Additionally, it’s worth noting that Compass and Maps have been integrated into the Cycling workout feature.
Mental Health app
On the other hand, the new watchOS version comes with an app called “Mental Health.” With this app, you will be able to record your instant emotions and daily mood. Additionally, it will ask you questions about how you are feeling throughout the day and help you assess the risks of depression and anxiety. Furthermore, you can now quickly access the Control Center by pressing the side button while in any app for fast and easy access.
Eye Health
watchOS 10 also takes a step towards addressing myopia, which is the problem of not being able to see things at a distance. The most effective way to reduce this risk is often spending time outdoors during the day. The ambient light sensor on the Apple Watch calculates and informs you about the time spent in daylight.
The Apple Watch models that will receive the watchOS 10 update are as follows:
- Apple Watch Series 4
- Apple Watch Series 5

- Apple Watch Series 6
