The Sims is preparing to meet players with a new installment. The iconic series’ development studio, Maxis, showcased the development stage of Project Rene, expected to be called The Sims 5. Although the game is still in its early stages, it has been reported that it will have a highly detailed graphic quality.
The Sims 5 is in the early development stage
Maxis, in a new video release, announced that they are working on various lighting, animations, neighborhood simulation, and the moods of Sims characters. Project Rene is still under development, but the released video provides clues about what we can expect from the game.
One of the features showcased in Project Rene is a new lighting model. The prototype visuals demonstrate how light from both indoor and outdoor sources will reflect on the walls. This development contributes to the visual quality of the game, promising a much more realistic simulation experience.
Project Rene will also offer new emotional animations for Sims characters. Sims will express their emotional states through various body language movements. This will enhance the storytelling and character development depth in the game.
Furthermore, neighborhoods will be more vibrant. Players will be able to make their front yards more interactive, allowing them to engage in daily routines in the garden.
The Sims 5 is still in the development stage, and its release date is unknown. However, considering the last Sims game was released in 2014, we may expect some events and announcements in the coming year. It’s worth noting that The Sims 4 has become free to play.
