The Lumia 2, a new product that combines wearable technology with jewelry aesthetics, was recently introduced and heralded a new era in the industry. The result of six years of development by Lumia, the Lumia 2 boasts a stylish jewelry design and provides crucial health data unlike any other wearable device before it.
The Lumia 2 is here
The company announced that these are the world’s first smart earrings capable of monitoring blood flow and various health data. For users who experience dizziness or lightheadedness, especially when standing up quickly, the Lumia 2 monitors blood flow and helps understand the underlying causes. This feature gives the Lumia 2 a unique position in health monitoring.

The critical point is the measurement method. An electronic platform and infrared light sensor located behind the left earring directly measure blood flow through the ear artery, which is closest to the brain. While most wearable devices measure superficial capillaries in the wrist or fingertip, the Lumia 2 detects changes in blood flow to the head. These measurements provide critical data that directly impact our energy levels, focus, and overall well-being throughout the day.
Made of platinum and titanium, the Lumia 2 is available in Huggie Hoop, Cuff, or Ball Stud models, and is available in gold, silver, and clear plating. Furthermore, thanks to its patent-pending “SwitchBack” technology, it can easily be added to existing earrings.
Weighing under 1 gram and five times smaller than Apple AirPods, the Lumia 2 performs a variety of functions, including sleep, temperature, and cycle tracking. The earring tracks daily habits such as hydration, nutrition, posture, movement, and sleep, analyzing the body’s responses to these habits and enabling users to make informed decisions.
In addition to the earrings, it features a secure locking system and a replaceable battery pack. The batteries promise a lifespan of 5 to 8 days. While the device’s design may seem exclusively for women, there are also options for men; the ear cuff model (Cuff) requires no piercing and will be available in matte titanium and clear. The Lumia 2 is compatible with both Android and iOS devices.
The smart earring is currently only available in the US and Canada. The price is $249, with a monthly subscription fee of $9.99. The company states that the original Lumia 1 was developed by researchers at Harvard, Johns Hopkins, and Duke University for patients with long-term COVID-19 and POTS, but notes that the Lumia 2 is not a medical device and is not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes.
