Konami has released a new trailer for Silent Hill f, the new game in the Silent Hill series set in Japan. Announced in 2022 and addressing the atmosphere of the series from a different perspective, the production will take players to a fictional town called Ebisugaoka in Japan in the 1960s.
The trailer for the new Silent Hill game has been revealed
Shimizu Hinako, who is at the center of the story, finds herself in a psychological and physical nightmare as her town undergoes a terrifying transformation under thick fog on her journey.
Konami emphasized that Silent Hill f deals with the theme of “terror in beauty”. Inspired by the basic elements of Japanese horror culture, this theme is based on the idea that things that seem perfect become disturbing over time. The game’s story is written by horror writer Ryukishi07, and deep psychological conflicts will be added to the series’ classic horror approach.
The music of the production also has a special meaning for Silent Hill fans. The series’ unforgettable composer Akira Yamaoka composed the music that shaped the town’s foggy atmosphere, while Kensuke Inage prepared special music for the game’s “Dark Temple” sections.
The town of Ebisugaoka, where the game takes place, was designed with inspiration from the Kanayama region in Japan’s Gifu Prefecture. Silent Hill f aims to create a new horror experience by offering a different atmosphere than the classic Silent Hill town.
No clear release date has been shared for Silent Hill f yet. However, it has been confirmed that the game will come to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC platforms.
