The new development, which has been making headlines in the tech world, began with vivo’s official confirmation that it will launch the Y500 smartphone. While the company previously introduced the Y400 series in the Chinese market, this new model is the successor to the vivo Y300, which was released in December 2024.
The vivo Y500 will stand out with its battery capacity
vivo hasn’t yet announced a release date for the Y500, but the first teaser image reveals the phone features a circular camera module, a durable body, and a modern design.

Digital Chat Station, a reliable industry source, revealed key technical details about the vivo Y500 in a post on Weibo. According to the information shared, the device boasts a massive 8,200 mAh battery.
This battery is the largest battery ever used in a vivo smartphone. This capacity makes the device particularly attractive for power-intensive tasks like gaming and video playback.
According to leaks, the vivo Y500 is reportedly powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset. Built on a 6nm architecture known for its energy efficiency, this processor delivers both high performance in daily use and a stable gaming experience. The front of the device features an AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
Another notable feature of the vivo Y500 is its IP68-certified water and dust resistance. This feature provides users with a safer experience in daily use and harsh environmental conditions.
vivo has not officially announced the Y500’s release date and price. However, considering the positioning of previous models, the Y500 is expected to be positioned in the mid- to upper-range segment. Finally, based on the Y300’s launch price, the vivo Y500 is expected to launch in the $450 to $550 range.
