A massive content update is expected for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, one of the most iconic titles in the gaming world, years later. A recent investment report by the Polish financial analysis firm Noble Securities reveals that a third major expansion pack will be released in May 2026, coinciding with the game’s 11th anniversary.
The Witcher 3 may offer new DLC
This new project, which is being prepared for the game that is thought to have completed its story with two main DLCs to date, is emphasized as creating a strategic transition point before the next installment of the series, The Witcher 4. The game, released in 2015 and maintaining its popularity despite the decade that has passed, is building both a commercial and narrative bridge with this move.

Financial projections prove that this new expansion pack is not a simple content update, but is designed to be quite comprehensive. According to analyst Mateusz Chrzanowski, the pack will be priced at approximately $30.
The project is estimated to require a development budget of nearly $14 million and achieve worldwide sales of 11 million units. These figures offer the most concrete indication yet that a major story-driven expansion of the caliber of Blood and Wine is on the way.
However, details regarding the development process suggest a possible change in the project’s development team. The report indicates that CD Projekt RED has shifted its main focus to new projects and has outsourced the development of this DLC to an external studio known for its expertise in the Witcher universe, Fool’s Theory.
While there’s no official announcement regarding the content, the fact that Ciri will take center stage in the series strengthens the expectation that this expansion will also feature a Ciri-centric storyline. This unconfirmed report is generating renewed excitement among Witcher fans after a long hiatus.
