Departure from CDPR and New Beginnings After Witcher 3
In his statement, Konrad Tomaszkiewicz explained that the main reason for leaving CDPR was creative freedom. He mentioned that it was difficult to bring innovative ideas to life at big studios, saying, “We had new and crazy ideas. We knew we had to start our own studio to realize them. Because in a big company, especially when working on new projects without existing IPs, it would be very hard.”

Tomaszkiewicz highlighted that one of the biggest advantages of his new studio, Rebel Wolves, is the team’s ability to communicate more effectively. “A small team can work with more direct and effective communication. It’s easier to bring a creative vision to life,” he said.
Rebel Wolves’ first game, The Blood of Dawnwalker, tells the story of a young man who is a human-vampire hybrid. With its gothic and dark atmosphere, the game demonstrates that AAA-quality productions can emerge without the backing of a large studio. The game’s initial trailer has already garnered significant attention and is now one of the most anticipated titles for RPG fans.
Despite parting ways with CDPR, Tomaszkiewicz still appears to maintain good relationships with his former team. Many developers from CDPR have shared support messages for Rebel Wolves’ new project, stating, “These games share a common heritage and values.”
