LG Display unveiled the world’s fastest OLED monitor panel at the K-Display 2025 trade show in Seoul, South Korea. The 27-inch OLED display boasts refresh rates of up to 540Hz for QHD and up to 720Hz for 720p resolution thanks to Dynamic Frequency and Resolution (DFR) technology. These refresh rates are the highest ever achieved in an OLED panel.
LG Announces the World’s Fastest OLED Monitor
The new-generation OLED panel is part of LG Display’s fourth-generation OLED display series, which utilizes Primary RGB Tandem technology. This technology features red, green, and blue subpixels in independent layers.
This structure increases both panel brightness and energy efficiency. With 99.5% DCI-P3 color coverage and a peak brightness of up to 1500 nits, the panel can deliver high speed without compromising image quality. LG stated that it developed this technology specifically for competitive gamers and professional content creators.
The newly introduced panel allows for dynamic switching between resolution and refresh rate. Operating at 520Hz in standard mode, the panel can switch to 720Hz HD mode when needed. This feature allows the display to optimize performance for high-framerate games based on current needs.
LG Display didn’t limit itself to just the 27-inch panel at the show. The company also showcased its 83-inch OLED panel, also featuring fourth-generation Tandem OLED technology. Reaching 4000 nits of brightness, this panel currently boasts the highest peak brightness among consumer OLED displays. The company emphasized that the panel offers significant improvements over previous generations in terms of image quality, contrast, and color depth.
